Software license
This agreement covers what you may do with LEMMA 001. Buying LEMMA buys you a license to use it — the software itself stays ours.
01The license you get
When your payment is confirmed, Advait Karnatak grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the version of LEMMA 001 you purchased.
You may install and use LEMMA on up to 2 machines that you own or control, for your own use. Performing publicly with LEMMA — a club, a venue, a stream, a commissioned show — is allowed and is what it is for.
02Perpetual, not lifetime updates
This is a perpetual license to the version you bought: you may keep using that version for as long as you like, and it does not expire or require a subscription.
A perpetual license is not the same as lifetime updates. Bug-fix and maintenance releases for the version you own are included. A future major release may be a separate paid product. We will not describe it as included unless it is.
03Ownership
SummonSound and its licensors own the software, its source code, its design and the bundled clip library. Nothing in this agreement transfers ownership of any of it to you.
Footage you import and video you produce with LEMMA are yours. We claim no rights over your work.
04The bundled clip library
Clips shipped with LEMMA may be used in your performances and recordings of them. They may not be extracted, resold, redistributed as stock footage, or offered as part of another clip pack.
05What you may not do
- Copy or distribute the software beyond the 2 installs your license covers.
- Sell, rent, sublicense or share your license key.
- Remove or alter licensing, attribution or ownership notices.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the software, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction.
- Use the software to build a competing product from its internals.
06Updates
We may issue updates that fix problems, improve performance or adjust behavior. Updates are covered by this agreement. We are not obliged to release any particular update, or to keep a feature that turns out to be unworkable.
07Compatibility
The supported platforms and requirements are listed on the system requirements page. Operating system updates, driver changes and hardware differences can affect a video application. We support the platforms we list, and we do not guarantee behavior on unsupported ones.
08Third-party components
LEMMA includes third-party open-source components under their own licenses. The build ships with a notices file listing each component and its license, and those terms take precedence for those components.
09Termination
This license ends if you materially breach it — most obviously by redistributing the software or sharing your key. On termination you must stop using the software and remove your installs.
10Warranty
The software is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.
If LEMMA does not work on a supported system and we cannot fix it, the refund policy applies.
11Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost bookings or lost data arising from the software. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the license.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
12Governing law
This agreement is governed by Laws of India, with disputes subject to the courts of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India.
